Windows 10: Current version

Can anyone point me to where I can find the number of the current release (none insider) build.

My system is showing as up to date with Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.494). However another forum suggested that was out of date and I should be at v1607 (14393.5)
I tried to search the Microsoft site but could not see the answer

I believe that it depends on what "Q" you have. From WM 5 to WM6.

To see if your device has an update, go to your cell providers website and check to see if they offer an upgrade

That v1607 looks like an Insider build:

I knew how to use winver to see what build I had on my system. What I was struggling with was finding, from Microsoft's site whether that was the current version or not. Thanks for the link - that was useful.

1511 (November of 2015)10586 is the current release. 494 is the latest patch version (12 July, 2016). If you're not receiving Insider builds, it is the build that you should have.

14393 is an Insider build, but it's for 1607 (July 2016), which will be the Anniversary release. The latest patch version is 14393.5. It appears to be very close to the Anniversary version that will be available beginning August 2.
