Windows 10: Cursor malfunction

I have recently developed an issue with my Windows 10 HP Notebook. The cursor works normal for the first few minutes every time I turn my laptop on, but quickly starts to malfunction. It will occasionally move from wherever I have it positioned on the screen to this area near the bottom right corner of my screen. Sometimes when it does this, it will start clicking uncontrollably for about 10-30 seconds in a vertical line from the bottom of the screen up until about halfway up the screen. In other instances it will click and begin to zoom in and out on my current tabs screen for the same time length.


I was previously advised to go download the most recent touch driver downloads available on HP's website for my laptop to see if this corrected the problem. This has not worked. I also experience the same issue when I plug in a mouse to my laptop instead of using the touchpad.


What exactly is causing my laptop to experience these issues and how do I fix them?

Thank you both for your prompt replies, I tried all steps listed, some I had tries previously but I still tried them again, but still no cursor.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Is there a key to delete character ahead of the cursor?

Hello Stephen,

As of the moment, deleting the characters next to the cursor is unavailable. You can only delete characters by moving the cursor to the right side. You can always send a suggestion via Feedback Hub app so that it can be added or included on the next update.

To send a feedback on your phone, you can follow the steps below:

• Go to All Apps, search for the Feedback
  Hub app.
• Open the menu icon at the top left side.
• Select Feedback, then at the top right side, tap the
  add button (+).
• Select Suggestion and fill up the box with the details of the feature you want to be added on Windows phone.
• Select the right category for the suggestion and then submit.
