Windows 10: Cursor Resets to Center

Windows 10 Pro 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1110) My cursor keeps resetting to the center of my screen. Details: - Occurs seemingly randomly in approximately 15 minute intervals. - The entire taskbar flashes (dissapears and reappears within a second.) - Cursor is always reset dead center of primary monitor. - Explorer.exe (MD5 fd5541611456e27d8bf3e90dda34dc4e) spikes CPU The Explorer process is not restarting or crashing. This is a problem in games and just annoying during normal browsing of the internet. I think this issue may have began after a windows update or nvidia display driver update. How can I even begin troubleshooting this problem?

Thank you both for your prompt replies, I tried all steps listed, some I had tries previously but I still tried them again, but still no cursor.

Do you have any other suggestions?

• Do you use windows media center on your computer?

I suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Move the cursor on the bottom-right and select the search box and enter into the search box what you want.
• In the search box you enter the Schedule Task under the Settings tab.
• In this step, you will see the "Task Scheduler" Window. You click on "Task Scheduler Library" from the left pane.
• In this step, select the task and click on Disable from the selected item category in the right pane.
• In this step, you check the status of the task. You will see the status of selected task has become disabled.

Cursor Appearance Reset

I tried your suggestions and none worked, including contacting HP who tried to help then told me that the only other option they could suggest was reset the laptop to its' original state. When the original issue occurred I did not download a third party
application. I googled windows cursors and downloaded a single cursor to the desktop then dragged and dropped it into the windows cursor folder and all the cursor appearances in the windows cursor window changed to the msie 'e' view. The cursors themselves
did not change, nor their names, just their appearance in the cursor window.
