Windows 10: Cursor/Touchpad problem

Hi,I am on Windows 10, i am not a technophope by any means, i just need help, my cursor is driving me insane.When i try to move my cursor on my touchpad, it does not go where i want it to go, and sometimes it does not move at all, it seems as if someone else is using it haha.I have gone on Device Manager, but on the drop down list it does not mention touchpad, is there some thing else i must do.Please let me know how i can rectify this in the simplest of terms, any advice would be well appreciated .Thank You

so i assume next steps are to have that program open that you suggested whilst using the laptop and then when the touchpad gets disabled to check if the keys have changed?

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.



This issue might occur if there is change in touchpad settings.



To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• When you say that "'Elan' software is gone", is the elan software included in the touchpad driver?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to hardware troubleshooter and touchpad driver. Check if it helps.



Step 1: I suggest you to perform the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. Check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on
Troubleshooting.

3. Click on View All on the left panel of the screen.

4. Click on Hardware and Devices.

5. Follow the instruction to run the troubleshooter.

Step 2: I recommend you to touchpad driver in the Device Manager and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

3. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.

4. Right click on the touchpad driver and click on Update Driver Software
