Windows 10: d drive is saying that the parameter is incorrect

Hey, i got this external hard drive which has most of my games installed in it. Yesterday i tried to update a game from steam that is inside the d drive but it said something about disk write error and disk read error, so i checked what it meant and tried to fix it but no luck. A few hours later when i tried to do something about it, i went to uninstall the game completly off the d drive but when i did, file explorer froze and crashed, so i opened it up again but this time when i went inside the d drive it got stuck loading and then after like 10 minutes it said the parameter is incorrect so i tried to fix it looking up tips online, but non of them worked, not even the cskdsk thing worked. so i tried restarting my computer but it got stuck on the restarting screen so i waited it out but it was stil there. I unpluged the hard drive and as soon as i did the computer went to the blackscreen and restarted. At the time i thought it was just a coincidense but when i put my passcode in and everything, my desktop was black and empty, so i thought it was the hard drive so i unpluged it and as soon as i did, the desktop went back to normal. Now i cant access my d drive nor can see the contents in it.

Any help with my problem?

BTW, im using Windows 10 on a laptop.

Bitlocker - The parameter is incorrect


I have one data drive that is Bitlocker protected and it has always worked fine. Now it seems to unlock, but when I try to access the drive I get "The parameter is incorrect". The am running Windows 10 Pro 1607 14393.105.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I pull out the drive and try it in another machine?

You get an error stating drive is not accessible, the parameter is incorrect. It’s indicates either hard drive corrupted or permission issue. If files are not executable, you can check for permission.

How to check permission for external hard drive.

1. Right click on the external hard drive and select properties.

2. Under security and make sure that the drive is not under sharing mode, it should be under your ownership.
