    I set the date of birth with appropriate protection scheme, the day has come and my child could swith off the protection and screen activity monitoring, the question is how to disable it in the child personal info whe she or he log in in order to get restrictions kept ? Marek

    How to change a childs date of birth

    • We have many Windows 8.1 Computers in the Family.
    • My wife and I both have Microsoft Accounts and are assigned as Parents.
    • My two sons are age 9 and use Local Accounts that are assigned to My Family and are protected by family safety.
    • I purchased a Windows Phone 8 for my sons
    • I created a Windows Account for my sons using their actual date of birth
    • I used the boys Windows Account to setup the Windows Phone

    Everything is working very well, accept I can not enable Cortana on the Windows Phone. Apparently you need to enable Cortana in order to use the "Quite Hours" functions. Because my boys friends like to skype them at 10 o'clock at night we NEED this feature!

    My goal is to modify their Microsoft Accounts date of birth to falsely reflect they are 13 years old, allowing them to use Cortana on their phone. I have done much research on how to do this and have been around in circles on the accounts.live.com and My
    Family websites but can not find where I can change their DOB. This
    link     simply does not pan out, the instructions read to click "Permissions" which doesn't exist.

    So. How can I change my child's DOB?

    Change adult birth date to a childs birthdate.

    If you set up an account with an adult birth date, then try to change it to a child's birth date, it will tell you you can't. I Changed my childs birth date to adult to access some things and now I
    want to change it back to child. I'm beyond frustrated. Please help me!

    Child removes self from Family

    Hi Cherylyn,

    One of the possible reasons why your child was able to remove his account as a child from Family is because he has change the date of his birth. I would suggest you to change the date of birth of their account and check if it helps.
