Windows 10: Day one patch for Windows 10 features over 1GB of fixes and improvemen

That still doesn't answer what full build the OEM version got. If they are going to use .16393 or an earlier version.

 

Good Morning, has anyone been able to install this update? I uninstalled the 3074683 from last night and tried but it doesn't seem to have changed anything i.e.. build number etc. Sure would be nice to install an upgrade on a clean install of 10240.

I have KB3074683 but still showing 16384. Rats! And I don't have Candy Crush Saga too.

I have 16393 in the Registry, 16392 in System Administration and 16450 in the personal data of my Microsoft Account!!

How about them apples???

 

Holy Crap! 1 GB of fixes? That's basically a service pack ... lol
(could you imagine if the RTM/GA release was so poor that SP1 had to be released on the following day?)

 

Mine is 16393 on the UK English (Aka the Queen's English) version x64.

 

One thing I've noticed about the 29 July version vs the earlier 10240 version of Windows 10. The Runtime Broker is better behaved. It doesn't run continually any longer, taking up to 40% of CPU. Now I see it only run on occasion, instead of being a resource hog. I upgraded to the 29 July version with the Microsoft upgrade tool.

 

well in my case Runtime Broker is still a resource hog (taking 10-20% cpu continuously ), making my HP 630 laptop a mini oven.
and none of the solutions (disabling background apps, cortana, etc) worked.

 

Runtime Broker is a service called Time Broker, which can be disabled through editing the registry.
Go to RUN and type regedit.exe and select OK.

Find the following entry and change the 3 to a 4.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TimeBroker] "Start"=dword:00000004

4 is Disabled, 3 is Manual and 2 is Automatic startup.
Before editing, the original value was 3. Set to 4 to disable. Just change the 3 to a 4 through the MODIFY menu selection, exit regedit and reboot your system.

 

Never mind. That issue is gone. only thing i did was this........
setting>system>notifications and actions>disabled "show me tips about windows".
and the issue is just gone (even after a reboot).

 

I checked that ..683 update and it was installed on the 28th.
