    Debloated my windows 10 recently and I noticed the psr.exe [Windows Steps Recorder] is not...


    Also the Action Centre was there but did not open when I clicked it I followed some guides online and used the command line to restore it, is there something similar I can do about the Windows Step Recorder, since I use it almost everyday.

    Steps Recorder there... but not there

    I seemed to have been saved by a link to this fix:
    Please use regedit to rename hklm\software\policies\microsoft\windows\AppCompat - changeAppCompat to AppCompat_HOLD . Then try launching PSR again.
    Tried it and now Steps Recorder seems to be working as it should.
    But to follow up on your suggestion, I'm going to try to find and repair the corrupt files that my sfc scan found... after setting a restore point!

    Mac,

    You could use the Problem steps recorder [PSR] because it will allow you to save both screenshots & your own comments at each step so you'd be getting the best of both worlds fairly easily.

    What are the fields output by Steps Recorder?

    Problem Step Recorder does not have such documentation but it is very clear, it takes snapshot and list down user's steps as it being captured by PSR.
