    Deceased Father and needing computer access


    Hello,


    My father passed away and he has 2 computers which I do not know the passwords to as he had changed them and forgot what they were. I need t get into these to get all the information off of them for bills and private information. I attempted the security questions and got a message stating I did not answer enough.


    Please help me to get into these computers thanks.

    Accessing a Deceased Person's Hotmail Account

    Check out Time's piece about online accounts of the deceased. There's a section from Microsoft. The article is a little old, but it's all I could find right now.

    Deceased Father and needing computer access

    One computer cannot access other network computers.


    So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:
    • Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
    • Ran a bunch of network commands:
      • flushed DNS
      • registered dns
      • pinged and located the named computers successfully
    • Reset my router to factory settings

    Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?
