Windows 10: default printer/metered connection

Won't find my default printer? Also I am on a metered connection? Tried everything. I hate this new computer. How can I get help?

Printer setup incomplete because of a metered connection

I tried to set up my HP Deskjet 3510 printer on my Dell Inspiron Windows 10 laptop. The printer is connected with the laptop with a USB 2.0 cable. Laptop is connected to a home WiFi network. After installing the driver, the printer is not able to print, not can it be set as the default printer. There's a message saying

I've tried to remove the printer and connect again. This never happened before. Can anyone tell me what it means and how to fix it?

The only option which you have now is to set metered connection ‘on’

What's a metered connection?

A metered connection is an Internet connection that has a data limit associated with it. Cellular data connections are set as metered by default. Wi-Fi network connections can be set to metered, but aren't by default. Some apps and features in
Windows will behave differently on a metered connection to help reduce your data usage.

To set a Wi-Fi network connection as metered:

1. Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet.

2. Select Wi-Fi > Advanced options > Set metered connection as off.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupt printer drivers or the printer drivers have not installed properly in the computer.

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if that helps.

Method 1:

Run inbuilt printer troubleshooter and check if it works.
Please follow the steps given below.

Note: If your computer is having problems printing, try using the Printer troubleshooter to fix the problem. It makes sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and
it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

• Press Windows + W keys on your keyboard to get the search option.
• Type Troubleshooting and click
  Troubleshooting.
• Now click on view all option.
• Click onprinter and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
