Defender Quick Scan takes 188 hours with 4-core i7-6700HQ

Hi,I use Windows 10 occasionally; for admin on my Ubuntu dual boot HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook Intel i7-6700HQ - 16GB RAM - 1TB hard drive half-full. While it ran quickly a couple of years ago, performance is now typically poor; especially during startup.Today the system reminded me to run a Quick Scan. I opened the settings, and saw that the last "quick scan" had taken over 188 hours. I am of course now hesitant to run another of these. I usually shut down when I'm finished my work, and so I now assume that the scanning task continues the next time I boot. That implies that that 188 hour

    Windows Defender - Quick Scan

Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

    My options are:

    • Scan
    • Advanced Scan
    • Full Scan
    • Custom Scan
    • Windows Defender Offline scan
Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

    Is a quick scan available?

How do I restore this feature?

Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU Windows 11 Compatibility

The PC Health Check app reports that my Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHZ is not currently supported with Windows 11. Will this processor be supported at a future date?

Intel Core i7-6700HQ Not Getting The Windows 11 Update?

    Hi there,

Microsoft hasn't made it clear why the intel core i7-6700HQ is not capable of running Windows 11. Which tests dit they perform, what were the results of those tests that they performed? What features and performance does my CPU need in order for it to run Windows 11, none of this is really clear. On what basis did Microsoft come to the conclusion that the intel core i7-6700HQ is not a capable processor and therefore devices with this processor won't get the update to Windows 11? These are some of the questions that Microsoft needs to address, just saying "your CPU is won't get the update to Windows 11 because it is not capable and supported" doesn't say anything.

    Thank you for you reply!

    Regards,

    Adarsh
