Windows 10: define override system settings for the "exploit Security settings" in windows defeder.

in exploit setting for security and the topics listed, they are on all but one default. this one off I turn on, and when yo editt the specifics of each per program there is a override system settings box which can be checked. what does this mean if you have it on, it diverts it or what its no clear. does it jus mean it on no matter what, no system can change it or... none of this is acutially clear, and the setting are not consistent with each downloand of windows et x.

Exploit Protection's "Program Settings"

Let us say that I went into WINDOWS DEFENDER SECURITY CENTER > APP & BROWSER CONTROL > EXPLOIT PROTECTION SETTINGS > PROGRAM SETTINGS.

Then, let us say that I edited via "system override" the settings for one of the programs.

My question: How would I later restore the default settings (i. e., the ones that were set before editing) for one or more edited programs?

Exploit Protection does not seem to provide any option for restoring back to a program's default state before any change was made.

Defender Exploit Override - Off or... Off?


Change Windows Defender Exploit Protection Settings in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Does this not mean:
Box not ticked- no override applies.
Box ticked, setting off - override applies, and the setting is off.
Box ticked, setting on - override applies, and the setting is on.

E.g. in tutorial; Option 4, 4, 6th screenshot - shown on.

 

Exploit Protection Settings

Open Windows Defender Security Center and click on
App & browser control and there find Exploit protection settings
and you could change settings for Exploit protection from there.
