Windows 10: Defrag, shut down

I recently downloaded the Auslogics Disk Defrag program, and I don't know how I should shut my pc down. When I close out of the program, it asks me to either completely close it or have it running in the background. Is it ok to have it running in the background while I close it? or should I completely close out of the program before I shut it down. I am just a little on edge becasue I recently had to repair my hardrive due to improper ways of shutting down. I want to make sure I am doing it right this time. Please help.

Windows Defrag

When running defrag, there is a drive listing for Windows RE Tools. It shows as a solid state drive and that it has never been defragged. It will not optimize. Clicking on it does nothing. Any suggestions?

  Go to file explorer and right click on the drive select Properties.
  
• Click on Tool tab and click on Optimize and check if you are able to open defragment.
