  1. Delete SAME YEAR versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable?

    I have several releases of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable installed on my computer. I'm not talking about x86 vs x64, nor am I talking about different year versions 2005 vs 2008 vs 2010. I'm talking about different release numbers for the same year 2008. Right now I have year 2008 x86 and x64 installations with four yes four separate version numbers: 9.0.307299.0.30729.179.0.30729.41489.0.30729.6161I fully understand why different year versions of the C++ Redistributable are required because code depends on the behavior and features available in a given year. My question

    :)

    microsoft visual c++ 2008 redistributable

    Try this.

    Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables both x86 and x64 versions.
    Install OpenOffice 4.1.6.
    Uninstall any versions 2008 redistributables installed after verifying the program works.
    Find and install the latest versions 2008 redistributables both x86 and x64 versions.
    Verify OpenOffice 4.1.6 still works.

  3. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

    All Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable are required as few applications might use older Redistributables.

    Microsoft advises none of C++ Redistributables should be deleted. All these C++ Redistributables install side by side in the WinSxS folder and the application picks the version it needs.

    (Note - The size it occupies it not even 15 MB)
