I’ve looked around for hours to find anyone with similar problems, nothing too accurate to come from it. (Probably shows just how dumb my mistake was.)

I was attempting to reinstall windows, USB and all after my computer became buggier and buggier, was following the steps of a video and he reached the final ones with the partitions and such, saying it doesnt really matter what you delete before starting the process this and that.

I wasnt paying attention and just decided to delete one in the order that he did, because it was already confusing me enough trying to comprehend all this tech-knowledge. Soon after, I realized those partitions were entirely different, wondered if i should actually have done then and I think I pressed “New”?

(I feel like I’m probably making someone that knows exactly what I did seriously cringe at this point, all while I have no idea.)

I tried to go through with the installation process anyways, but was prompted by something saying I needed to clean something before the process could finish

(Sorry if this isnt helping or seems lazy, it was a while ago and I just assumed I could get someone to fix it, but after reading up, I realized that I didnt want to pay someone to spend an hour on my case just to tell me “Welp, youre fucked.”)

It probably doesnt matter anyways, but went through that process while using Command Prompt and quickly tried to return to finish the process, and was swiftfully greeted by a blue screen, switching between the “Your PC needs to be repaired.” and “We’ll collect information and restart.” screens. Though, I doubt that detail matter.

I hear to use programs to recover (If thats even possible.) but my USB reinstallation program wont even boot up anymore, unless alternatives internally different and would work under these circumstances, I even changed up the booting order so that it would load up first.

I dont really mind calling it quits, just curious as to whether I should or not

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that
