    Deleting a Hidden Folder


    Many thanks all. Linux was the chosen solution and it went off well. I used LiLi USB Creator which made the whole exercise of creating a Live Linux so easy. I just chose one at random from the drop down list in LiLi - Mint I think - booted from that, straight to the folder and deleted it. It wasn't empty by the way, lots of files were in there, around 16GB.

    So if anyone else has a similar problem don't b****r around trying other 'solutions' go straight for Linux.

    Right, I keep an 8GB micro SD with a live Linux Mint with 4GB persistence to solve various problems. (Also made by LiLi)
    Persistence lets you keep installed programs and settings which would otherwise be lost after reboot.
    Mint because of most available SW and utilities (gParted for instance), also good for HW troubleshooting and works "As is" on most computers without a need for special drivers and most direct link to HW.
