  1. Deleting and Saving Files

I have Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 on a laptop. I am trying to understand the interaction between files stored on my pc and files stored with OneDrive in the cloud.

Let's say I create a word document and save it as "Page" in my documents folder under OneDrive on my laptop. If I have an Internet connection, is Page automatically stored and accessible on the Internet at onedrive.live.com. under "my files." Is this automatic, or do I need to do an upload to get Page on onedrive.live.com?

If I loose my Internet connection, is Page still available on my laptop?

If I have an Internet connection and delete Page from my laptop, is it automatically deleted at onedrive.live.com?

If I don't delete Page from my laptop, and have an Internet connection, and delete Page at onedrive.live.com, is it automatically deleted also from my laptop as well?

If I create Page on my laptop and save it in documents under onedrive, is it also automatically saved in my separate documents folder on my desktop, or are the only files stored at Desktop/Documents files that I manually save to Desktop/Documents?

    :)

  2. Saving and deleting files

I suspect you have some agent that interferes with the normal operation of Windows. Please try this to find out:

    • Press Shift+Restart to start Windows in Safe Mode.
    • Modify some file, then save it.

      Delete some file.
    • Press Shift+Restart to start Windows in Safe Mode.
    • Check if the actions from Step 2 persist.

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

CCleaner Professional | Try the world’s most trusted PC cleaner, free!

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

Recent (Save Files) - Change Default Settings to OneDrive

    Hello -
Thanks for the return. Before I undertake changing the Registry, I have a question.
The steps in my Registry, for my version of Windows 10, were a bit different, but I think I eventually got to the right spot.
The last step is to change the number of places you want to list in Recent Places. In my case, the default Max Display listed 50 as the number. So, if I were to change that number, how do I know the Save As page will be one of those places? Or, a similar question, will this registry change delete the tab Recent from my Save As page? This is what I would like to happen.
When I received my computer in Nov. 2016, the Recent tab was not listed in the Save As page. Something caused it to be added over time. Which brings me to this second question. Would there be any benefit in deleting the changed registry listing and reverting back to the default listing? See attachment.
