  1. Deleting old iTunes, installing new iTunes to Windows 10

I spent the better part of 2 months trying to resolve a problem loading iTunes/Windows 10 new versions.

I've had two iTunes customer support case numbers and spoke to 5 different technicians, all to no avail.

I finally got Jasmine/iTunes this morning and she lead me to Microsoft Support.com and query "fix problems with install/uninstall programs with Windows 10.

I followed the menus to uninstall the old version of iTunes, that worked. Rebooted my computer and began to install the new version iTunes but error message of "can't complete installation, run installer again."

But this time, I right clink on the iTunes icon and ran as Administrator. Bam!!!!!..it worked.

Hope this method works for you, God bless.

    :)

  2. Cannot install iTunes

    Hello,

What version of Windows are you using?

Did you follow the steps for uninstalling iTunes? If not, do so now.

Right click on Start > Select Control Panel > Uninstall Programs

    Uninstall all of these applications

    • iTunes Software
    • Quicktime
    • Apple Software Update
    • Apple Mobile Support
    • Bonjour (especially Bonjour, the most problematic and most difficult component to remove properly! )
    • Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    • iPhone (if you have it loaded)
    • and anything else related to iTunes — that’s the tough part where you need to be very careful
iTunes should be uninstalled in this process of elimination. Reboot the computer.

To install iTunes, follow these steps.

Step one - download the icloud control panel (do not install yet)

Step two - Run the installer as an administrator by right clicking the installer and running as administrator

Step three - after the install finishes, DO NOT reboot

Step four - run the apple software update program and install iTunes from there.

Step five - Reboot, and enjoy

    Cannot reinstall iTunes

After having some issues with my iPhone syncing any music (just stayed at updating and did not move) I thought I would uninstall my iTunes and try reinstall it.

It seemed that during the uninstall iTunes was still runnin in the background as even though the iTunes uninstaller said it was gone it was running in task manager. However, programs does not show it is installed anymore.

When I try to reinstall now it says an error occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured....

I have tried to delete all apple files and uninstalled all the Apple software such as bonjour, the updater, QuickTime etc and I still have the issue.

I have also tried to create a new installer folder in c:/windows.

Anyone had this issue before? And how to fix it please? iTunes corrupted all the music files on my phone so basically I have an iPhone with no music and no way to put it on right now.

I am thinking of just doing a system restore right before I tried doing all this as my system installed windows updates that day before I tried to uninstall iTunes. Would it help?

    Running Windows 10 x64.

Thanks in advance *Smile Deleting old iTunes, installing new iTunes to Windows 10 :)
