    Deleting or Formatting a Partition

I will re-try the clean install and see if any options to delete/format comes up - if not maybe try the HD into a different PC and see if I can do it that way.

I'll still post a pic of the disk partitions tonight before I attempt anything.

Thanks for your help btw *Biggrin

If you use the installer and go to command prompt, you should have no problem using Diskpart from there.

If you boot into the installer and hold Shift then press F10, you will get a cmd prompt. Alternatively when you get to the window of where do you want to install, you can highlight each partition and press delete to delete all partitions.

    Boot into my Rescue Media...
Then use aomie partition assistant to Copy/clone the D;/ partition to the C:/ partition
    Then delete the D:/ partition
    OR Even better...
just wipe both drives, format the D:/ Drive and then run setup.exe from the mounted windows 10 ISO
selecting the unallocated Drive as the installation drive..

Yes. You will see this screen

Highlight each partition one at a time and click delete. until it shows as unallocated like in the screenshot.

Once you are able to reinstall windows please indicate the steps that you made to clean the drive and install Windows 10. The steps that are usual are in post #8 and essembe displayed them in post #20. Did they fail again? If you try diskpart again let us know the fail error. Were you able to use the steps that Kyhi listed?

And to further emphasis the point - you have to boot the computer from the Windows 10 installation DVD or USB flash drive. You can't just run setup.exe from it if you are wanting to delete the partitions on the drive.
