Windows 10: Dell 2520 keyboard issue on Windows 10

hello everyone. I upgraded windows 7 to windows 10 on my Dell Vostro 2520 laptop, and the keyboard has started acting weird. The problem is usually with spacebar, backspace and enter keys, as they stop responding at all. I have to press them a number of times before they respond. I tried everything I read on forums but still nothing! i am using 64bit OS. any ideas how to fix it? Dell hasn't provided any keyboard drivers and I have the latest Dell Touchpad drivers.

2520 sudden death with su-42

Ever since I got my 2520 with the power keyboard, it seems to shut down when the keyboard battery runs out. This happens every time. It can be restarted after holding the power button down for 10-15 secs, and after that it runs ok with the tablet battery.



Is this a hardware problem? Why isn't 2520 able to switch to the primary tablet battery when the secondary keyboard battery runs out?

Nokia Power Keyboard 2520 problem

The System firmware update for my 2520 was installed on Feb 12, 2014. But I have had this issue since before Feb 10, 2014 when I commented on this thread. For me the update did not affect me as I've had the jitter before and after the update. Maybe it
is the keyboard? But I also have the most problems when using the 2520 and keyboard while they are charging, so maybe a grounding issue? I rarely separate my 2520 and keyboard. But only have the problem when they are connected.

 

Drivers are not generally needed for the keyboard. Those use the hid drivers supplied by windows. Just plug and play.

If keyboard is acting oddly, is is generally a hardware related issue. And most probably you will not be able to open the laptop to fix it. Take the laptop to a dell service center. At a maximum a replacement keyboard will be needed.

 

I have no issues opening the laptop by myself. Have done it a number of times. Suggestions on how to fix it will be welcome. As for the Dell Service center, unfortunately, the laptop is 5 years old and there aren't any reasonable Dell service centers in Pakistan *Think

Thanks! The Enter, Backspace and Spacebar keys behave in a weird way. When they work, they just work like a charm. When they stop working, I have to press all three of them again and again and again, until they start working all by themselves. May be it's a problem with IRQs? (the keys stopped working at this point, so I just pressed backspace and spacebar a few times and voila!). Any clue how to fix this issue?
