Windows 10: dell laptop mousepad freezes

my mousepad on my dell 15 3000 freezes about every 3 secs or so then catches up really annoying this only started after update ran when installing the new version of win10.

i tried reinstalling from the usb which worked how ever win10 insists on updating and the problem started again after the update. i tried turning off the update but it still updated. has anyone got any ideas or know which specific update is causing the problem???

hello, i've been having an issue with my touchpad/mousepad. i recently upgraded to windows 10, and ever since whenever i use the keyboard, just by touching any key the mousepad will freeze and remain inactive for about 5 seconds.

These 7 steps allowed me to disable my touchpad (Dell laptop, Windows 10):

1. Win Start button
2. Type in "device manager"
3. Select Device Manager to open it
4. Click down arrow to left of "Mice and other..." to expand
5. Right click Dell Touchpad
6. Disable device
7. Yes

The issue could be if the drivers are either not updated or get corrupted. So, I would suggest you to update the mousepad drivers and check if it helps you to fix the issue.

The issue could also arise due to outdated drivers that might not be compatible with Windows 10. So, I would suggest you to keep checking your Windows updates not only important one but optional too. If any available try to install them and see
if it helps you to fix the issue.
