Windows 10: Dell XPS 15 9550 Keeps Crashing

I just bought this dell xps 15 9550 second hand about a week ago and it seems to crash each time i use it for over a couple of hours, blue screen saying your pc ran into a problem, 0% and then restarts immediately with no major issues. Initially thought it was because it was second hand but upon checking other peoples experiences, it would seem that it happens to alot of users of this laptop.


I have seen no correlation between what i am doing or running and the crashing, just seems to happen after a few hours use no matter what i'm doing. When looking a other peoples experiences i have to say i dont understand all the talk about drivers so please try to keep it simple!


Really would like to Fix this before i start using it for a project for my school exams in a few weeks, any help much appreciated.

Dell XPS 15 9550 OS gone/not found, help reinstalling Windows 10?

• Dell hasn't replied all day so there's been no progress and I'm still stuck at wondering how to install Windows 10 via USB drive or if there's another solution.

I don't have a disk drive so the only way to reinstall the OS is via USB drive, which has been unsuccessful because Dell simply said "install Windows 10" and nothing more so I went as far as I could without having everything blow up. My hard drive and everything
else passed the diagnostic test 3 times.

If it gets to the logo, but no further that means the boot process gets far enough into the UEFI or BIOS pre boot to show the logo. Obviously, there is some difficulty in going further, when the UEFI or BIOS seeks to pass control to the boot drive. If you're in luck, something is wrong with your boot configuration or the underlying boot configuration data (easily repaired).

I hope you have access to another computer or you already have a USB recovery drive at your disposal. You must either find or build one, then try to boot your PC to that alternate media. If you can't get into the BIOS, you can't boot into alternate media, and you can't repair your PC yourself. Then, alas, it's time for a trip to the repair shop (or a warranty call to Dell, if your PC is still covered).
