So I have a Dell XPS 15 with Windows 10 that is just over 1.5 years old. Issues have started to rack up over the last 3 or so months (things like any microphone from any headset/earbuds not being detected, my Realtek Audio not showing up at all in Device Manager, and some other issues).

Most recently, the built in speakers to the laptop have stopped working entirely after trying to fix some of the above problems, as a little red circle with an X in it appears next to my volume adjustment on my task bar. I decided I had had enough and did a Reset of my PC and selected the “keep my personal files” option as there were several documents I didn’t want to lose. Before it reset, it said that my laptop would automatically restart.

I did this about 2-3 hours ago, but my screen is still black and my keyboard lights won’t even turn on no matter how long I hold down the power button. I was hesitant to unplug it from my charger as it said the restart would not work on only battery power, but I tried unplugging it briefly to try and turn it on but that didn’t work either.

My question is, is this normal to happen on a Reset of a Windows 10 laptop? How long should I expect my laptop to be like this? Was it the right move to Reset my laptop with so many things with audio/audio drivers going wrong? If not, what should I do?

Method 1: I suggest you to run the hardware and device troubleshooter
to check and fix issues with hardware and devices.
Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Update the touchscreen drivers manually from the Device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

1.Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
Device manager from the context menu.

2.Expand Human Interface Device option, right click on the touchscreen driver and select Update this software from the context menu.

3.Follow the on-screen instructions.
