    Denied access to .dmp file. I am the sole administrator and owner.


    Denied access to .dmp file even though I am the sole administrator and owner.

    Advised to go to Minidump folder to learn why my computer just crashed...showing WHEA Unrecoverable Error.


    I have read that this is normally a hardware fault, and sometimes just a driver issue- how do I find out?

    Denied access to a file despite being listed as the owner

    I tried to reinstall Origin, and this particular program, and it seems some others on the computer do not allow access at all, either to run or delete. It says access is denied or that permission will be needed. I go into the advanced settings to change
    the owner (as elswhere the troubleshooters suggested) and I see that Administrators is already listed as the owner. It's as though the administrator does not even have access to the file. This appears to apply to the entire folder. How can I change the
    permission to the file(s) so I can delete/reinstall?

    access denied even im administrator and owner

    im trying to terminate windows defender proc. cuz its eating my cpu. whenever i click terminate it tells me access denied. i went to the file destination and i changed security propriety by changing the owner to "Administrators" and i edited it to full
    access but still getting access denied. same when i changed ownership to everyone, also tried disable/enable built-in admin still same problem. any help?

    net user administrator /active:no keeps saying access denied.

    Hi Rebekah,

    It's possible that you're not using an elevated command prompt, causing the Access Denied error. We suggest following these steps to properly disable the built-in administrator account:

    • Right-click the Start button.
    • Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste net user Administrator /active:no and press
      Enter      . If the command isn't successful, please post a screenshot so that we can study it further.

    Let us know if you're able to hide the administrator account after following these steps.
