Windows 10: Designer Keyboard 7678 certain keys are not working

I have a couple of weird things going on with this keyboard. 1 It won't connect to my personal laptop, a Lenovo. It provides a code to pair with, but after entering it says the code is wrong. I've tried this multiple times.2 It will pair with my work laptop, but a selection of keys has stopped working - H to ; no longer work at all.I suspect the thing is dead, but interested to know if there is anything I can do to resurrect it.

Microsoft Designer Keyboard special keys not working properly

Just bought the Microsoft Designer Keyboard and Mouse today, and i'm already having the exact same issues as everyone above:

- No shortcut keys (volume, play/pause, etc..);

- Every time i press one of the shortcut keys, the keyboard constantly freezes and then displays the last 15 characters pressed;

I've done all the steps suggested and everything is still not working.

If i don't solve this issue until the end of this week i'm returning my Microsoft Designer back.

Suggest you to launch the on-screen keyboard to check if the issue persists.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

  Press “Windows key + R” to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.
  

Also suggest you to install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps.
Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

Further, you may also boot the computer in a clean boot state and check if the issue persists. When you start Microsoft Windows, typically there are several programs that start automatically and run in the background that may interfere with the system.
These programs may include antivirus and system utility programs. When you perform a clean startup procedure, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.

Media keys doesn't work on Microsoft Design keyboard

As I have already said I had the same problem.

Today my Keyboard lost connection. In the settings, the keyboard was listed with a note like "broken driver". I removed the designer keyboard and the listed HID-keyboard as well. Then I reconnected the designer keyboard.

Since then, my media keys are working again. Yay!

Edit: Came back to the PC after a while and media keys don't work anymore.

Problem persists.
