Windows 10: Desktop audio coming through on the mic?

I've had this issue for quite a while now, whenever there's audio coming from the computer and I'm using a mic talking to someone, they mention that they can hear stuff from my pc. I'm using headphones with a mic built into it. I tested that it's not just the sound from the headphones reaching my mic by making an audio recording and turning off the mic on my headphones, playing a video and then the audio of that video coming onto the recording even when the mic is off.

I followed a tutorial on to fix this, and it said to disable Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation, however, they were already disabled and this was still happening. I'm pretty sure that at some point I intentionally did something so that desktop audio would come through the mic so I could play weird ear rape in games like VRChat but now I totally forgot how to disable it.

USB Mic Problems.


The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

Headset mic not working

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:
