Windows 10: Desktop computer keyboard making a clicking sound through the speaker with typing, how do I...

I have a Cybertron gaming computer, No touch screen keyboard. I was holding down Shift in order to read some message in a game, and a box popped up, I closed it, didn't really read it, wish I had now, and now every keystroke comes through the speakers. I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Every internet search takes me to 'How to turn off touch keyboard type sounds' but my computer doesn't even have that as an option for a touch keyboard in settings.

Please help, It's driving me crazy!

• What is the make and model of your laptop?

This issue might occur if function key in the keyboard is enabled. So as an initial steps, I suggest you to check for the function key in the key board and make sure that it is not enabled.

If the issue still persists you can run Hardware troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Suggest you to follow the steps below and run the
Hardware and Device troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• Type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.
• Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next" button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

If the click sound is software, coming from the computer's speakers, you can trying turning of: Settings, Ease of Access, Keyboard, Change other typing options, Uncheck "Play key sound as I type"
