Windows 10: Desktop crashes on wakeup from sleep VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL 10e

Hello everyone,

I have recently built a custom PC and every time I put my computer to sleep, and attempt to wake it up, it crashes. I don't see any BSOD as my monitors are off but it reboots as if starting from shutdown.

Things I have tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers

Uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of Nvidia drivers

Removing my GPU and putting it back and using a riser cable.

I have never experienced this issue when playing games such as League of Legends, Modern Warfare. This issue only happens when attempting to wake up from sleep.

Here is the bugcheck analysis from one of the DMP files I wasn't able to find parameter 1 value of 33 at Bug Check 0x10E: VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL :

BSOD Crash: VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL (10E)

Hi,

I'm crashing to a BSOD consistently about every hour. I've run the MEMORY.DMP file through a memory debugger and it's always the same after every crash. What's odd is the computer only crashes when I'm using Unity (though it did
once while using Maya), but does so very consistently. I've looked at dozens of forums and documentations but none of them seem to help. I've attached the debug from the MEMORY.DMP file at the bottom.

These are the things I've tried:

Reinstalled and updated both Intel Graphics and NVIDIA graphics drivers

Updated Direct X

Updated Windows

Disabled hardware acceleration in the Registry Editor

Reinstalling Unity

My computer: Razer Blade 15 (2018) Advanced

Intel i7-8750H

Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

NVIDIA GTX 1060 (Max-Q)

16 GB RAM

512 GB SSD

Windows 10 - Bad Screen after wakeup from sleep

Hi,

There may be several reasons why this is happening to your screen after the update. To assist you better with your concern, kindly answer the questions below:

Does this only happen when your system wakes up from sleep mode?

---> Yes it only happens when I wakeup the laptop from sleep.

Are you able to login without any issues when you try to restart your laptop?

---> Yes after restart or wakeup from hibernate, all is fine

What is the current build of your system?

---> The problem started after windows update installed the updates automatically.

---> When I reported problem the versions were

---> Edition: Windows 10 Home Single Language

---> Version: 1703

---> OS Build: 15063.332

---> Graphics: NVidia GeForce 940M

---> Driver: 22.21.13.8205

---> But yesterday I upgraded to windows insider preview release thinking that might solve my problem, but no luck. The current build is 16199 with latest NVidia driver available on NVidia website.

Have you done any troubleshooting steps?

Resume from sleep crash

The new dump files do indicate the issue is with the NVIDIA display adapter and/or driver:

One was a VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL (10e) error and the other was a

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (7e) error referencing the nvlddmkm.sys as the cause.

Are you over-clocking any component?

Also, what NVIDIA GPU is installed?
