Windows 10: Desktop icon arrangement not saving after restart.

Hi, every time i rearrange desktop icon after restarting or shutting down it keeps back for the previous arrangement.

My problem is same as this Windows 10: Folder View Settings and Desktop Icon Positions Not Saving

I already use the autofix it works but only one time use. It will only work if i rearrange it in safemode and run the x64 batch file.

Tried also this

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\

-AND-

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\

Double click on (Default) and replace "%SystemRoot%\SysWow64\shell32.dll" with "%SystemRoot%\system32\windows.storage.dll" in both file destinations.

But this 2 location are already %SystemRoot%\system32\windows.storage.dll.


I have the latest windows 10 version 1903


Any new fix?

In the meantime, you may follow the step below to see if this would address your concern:

• Right-click on your desktop > Click View.

Note: If you want to manually arrange your desktop icons uncheck Auto arrange icons
then drag your icons depending on where you want to place them on your desktop. If you want your icons to be aligned to the grid, check
Align icons to grid.

I would suggest you to try the steps and check if it helps.

a) Right click on Desktop.

b) Click on View.

c) Uncheck both "Arrange icons to grid" and "Auto arrange icons".

d) Restart the computer and check if it helps.

 

Desktop Icons Won't Stay Put
