Windows 10: Desktop icons are a blank sheet?

Hello, my desktop icons are just a blank sheet of paper, when I try to open them I have to select something I want to open it with.

There is then only Paint etc..

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right click on the blank space on desktop.
• Click on View.
• Uncheck Align icons to grid.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
