Windows 10: Desktop icons with blank square

Installed W10 8 days ago
Today after a restart some of my desktop icons have a white square in front of them
I made the view on large icons , normaly i use smal then only the white square is showing
I tryed an icon-cache-rebuild without success

Solved by restoring a backup

How do I resize tiles on desktop?

There's no tiles on the desktop (tiles are the squares inside the Start menu). But if you mean resize the desktop icons, you can do it several ways:

• Right-click a blank area of the desktop, choose View, then pick a size
• Click any single icon, then hold down the Ctrl key while you scroll your mouse wheel (if it has one)

 

Microsoft Edge desktop icon

i have the same Problem but sfc /scannow (in admin mode) did not solve it

all me Desktop URLs are blank White squares

when i Change Default browser to Chrome the chome Icon is on the URL (so this works)

changing the Default browser back to edge again only Shows White squares

seems i have to stay with Chrome ?
