Desktop PC always freezes on windows updates

I am hoping someone has had this problem and solved it. I have a Gateway PC that I upgrade to Windows 10. I ran the compatibility and everything checked out.

Ever since I did the upgrade, every time there is an Windows update, I get the blue update screen and it freezes. I then have to wait a few hours and restart the PC and it will finish the update. It always seems to freeze around the 30% mark. It doesn't appear that the update stops because after I power down and come back and the upgrade completed. I think this might be a video driver issue or compatibility issue, but I can't find any documentation on this issue or people having a similar problem.

    :)
