Windows 10: Desktop shortcuts randomly changing and modifying themselves.

I haven't had many errors before where I can't seem to find the source of the problem, however I am lost on this one. Over the past few days the shortcuts on my desktop have been randomly applying themselves with little modifiers like "Shared" or a green tick and then a grey "X". This has only started happening recently, and I haven't installed a software update recently either. The thing is, if I restart explorer all these "modifiers" disappear and my icons return to normal. This problem isn't a issue, it just bothers me in case it's a serious issue. I've attached a screenshot of what I mean

The desktop shortcut created for a specific website should bear the website's actual logo. With what you've experienced, there could be something wrong with how the shortcut was created.

If you've created the shortcut by selecting Create shortcut, then we suggest that you try the other way, that is by dragging the website icon that appears in the address bar to your desktop. Follow these steps:

• Using Internet Explorer, access a website.
• Once the website opens, you will see its icon in the address bar.
• Click and drag the icon on your desktop.

The website shortcut bearing its actual logo should now be saved on your desktop.

Modify Shortcuts

i got a tip to try a program called Total Commander and it worked to modify the shortcut, but with the switch i tried, its supposed to run in a DOS like console window. At least thats what its desktop counterpart does. So unless i can find a way to emulate
that, im outta luck on this one.

Modify Shortcuts

Create the shortcut with Pocket Explorer; with ActiveSync transfer the shortcut (it is a plain text file) to the desktop; modify at will and transfer back.
