    Device connection sound is heard every 15-20 seconds


    I have a very annoying thing that seems to have popped up in the last 2 days or so. I installed Win 10 on my custom built computer about a week ago and it has been working just fine. Then about two days ago I started getting the sound that it makes when you connect a USB drive to the port or some other device. It goes non-stop, sounding off every 15-20 seconds. I checked my device manager and nothing is changing there. There is something that pops up in the tray in the lower right but it disappears so fast that I can't see what it is. I have no idea what is causing this but it's driving me crazy. If anyone else knows what might be causing this, I would be most interested in hearing how to resolve it.

    EDIT: resolved. I had a usb hard drive hooked up in back that I didn't know was connected.
