Windows 10: Device HDAUDIO... requires further installation.

Hello everyone! I've been encountering a problem ever since I have booted up my PC this afternoon.My microphone will not pick up any noise. At first I thought it was the mute button on my headphones, my headphones are Razer Kraken X, but that didn't seem to be the case. Upon further investigation, I noticed that my mic wasn't picking up anything at all regardless if I changed the volume. Looking at the sound control panel, my microphone did not seem to pick up any noise at all. I've tried many things, so here's a list of what I have done:- Checked if I left the microphone on mute I haven't.

the sound works but not the microphone for dictation software. I have both NVIDA and Realtek sound cards, same message, neither work. anyone have this problem? I looked up the patches- not so many options for _10EC, esp _1003.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
