Windows 10: Device Manager is not in the Computer Management

May I understand what the first 2 commands do? Thanks!

I have only run 'sfc /scannow' again and there's no problems at all.

The device management is still not in the computer management list, so do I still need to run the first 2 commands?

By the way, my Win10 enterprise has not upgraded to RS.

 

Device Manager is on the Right-click of the Start button of my Win10 Home and Win10 Pro computers, many things are such as Control Panel, Command Prompt [2 items], etc. Also different from Win7 is Startup has been moved from msconfig to the Task Manager.

 

On my Win 10 Pro X64, the Device Manager links are in the following locations:





Check and see where they are on your PC. I used Everything Search to find this information, great little program.
Install it, let it run to build it's index then search for device manager, see what you find.

I have 4 search results and I don't have the 2nd one in that path and I don't have that directory.

Do you have the Windows Installation ISO ? . You can try to mount it then use 7-Zip to open the file Install.wim or install.esd, copy the the file compmgmt.msc to C:\Windows\System32

It's still in mine which is also on that right-click menu on both the RTM/1511 and the Insider Preview/1607 versions of Win10. I don't have an Enterprise version available to check nor the Education version.

 

Sign in to the Volume Licensing Service Center to download Enterprise editions.

Those are only entries for the Win-X menu (yours and Ztrucker's)

You could try building your own managemnt console
Run mmc
File menu > add snapin

Pick the ones you want from the list - try adding Computer Management and Device Manager snap-ins
You can test it without saving - this might tell you if the issue is with Management consoles.

I think the root issue is that your machine has Enterprise. As far as I know, you can only get updates though Volume Licensing / Software Assurance.

You should consider downgrading to Professional.
