Windows 10: Device USBSTOR was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match .... what are my options?

Discus and support Device USBSTOR was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match .... what are my options? in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Western Digital USB HD ... does not show up in MY PC ...     Device USBSTOR was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match .... what are my options?


    Western Digital USB HD ... does not show up in MY PC ... It is in Device and has the "not migrated" error ... Would like to recover data on drive. Any help would be appreciated. It is not the cable as I have tried ones that work with other external drives.

    I have 2 USB drives.

    For one drive, 'WD easystore 25FA USB Device Properties' _/Events\_ shows this:

    Device USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_WD&Prod_easystore_25FA&Rev_1018\575832314443384852543331&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Last Device Instance Id: USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_GENERIC-

    For other drive, 'WD easystore 25FA USB Device Properties' _/Events\_ shows this:

    Device USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_WD&Prod_easystore_25FA&Rev_1014\5758333144353832394C5250&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Last Device Instance Id: USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_GENERIC-

    What is meant by "migrated"?

    What would cause an "ambiguous match"?

    Is this anything to worry about?

    this happened after I installed the latest update and it wont let me roll back

    Hi!

    this week I wanted to sort my family pictures, I normally download them from my phone onto my Windows 10 PC and then sort them and move those pics to my WD Elements 4TB external drive.

    However, I cannot access my WD drive anymore.

    In windows MY COMPUTER I can see the drive as "D"drive, but when I click on it I cannot access it.

    Right click on it gives me the standard menu, but PROPERTIES won't open.

    When I go to Disk info I get some more info, but I don't know what to do with it.

    I am affraid that I have lost thousands of pics now...

    This is what I have found:

    Device USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_WD&Prod_Elements_107C&Rev_1065\574343344532465437355A45&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Anyone has an idea of what to do now?
