    As the title says, devices connected through Windows 11 hotspot are restricted by firewall as if they are connected through a Public Network. For example, X Windows doesn't work if Raspberry Pi is connected through Windows 11 hotspot. But works fine while connected through othe Private networks.There is no option to change the Windows 11 hotspot category to "Private" anywhere in "Network and Sharing Centre" or secpol.msc.

    Windows 10 Mobile hotspot not working because of firewall

    Sir... I'm from the Philippines...regarding in what situation is all about... I having problem too, its about my Avast Firewall, it's act to block my Windows 10 Hotspot, i figure it out that my problem of having disconnection when i active my win 10 hotspot while avast is on, when i disable it, my hotspot works......can you tell me step by step how to configure to work properly my win 10 hotspot while the avast firewall is on???....by the way I'm just disable only firewall of avast but the whole operation of my anti-virus is working, just the Firewall...and its work while i disable Avast Firewall....PLS help me about it!

    Wifi turns off automatically when a device is connected to my hotspot


    Whenever a device is connected to my hotspot the wifi is turning off automatically thereby stopping the hotspot.

    To turn the Windows 10 hotspot on, in first step I have turned on the Wireless Network Connection as shown in the below image.

    After that I did following steps in Command Prompt(Admin) for hotspot
    1. netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyWiFi key=mypassword
    2. netsh wlan start hostednetwork

    In netsh wlan show hostednetwork command, it shows the hotspot had started successfully as shown in the below image.

    But whenever a device is connected to this hotspot the wifi is turning off automatically thereby stopping the hotspot.

    I have unchecked the Power management option i.e, Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    All driver are updated to the latest versions.
