Windows 10: did Microsoft remove the metro screen completely?

Discus and support did Microsoft remove the metro screen completely? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; What do you think of this new Start Menu/Start Screen combo HG? I suppose I could get use to it, but I'm not sure I prefer it over the All Apps screen. Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by Robinb9, Feb 12, 2015.

Using Brink's Desktop Context Menu switcher to use all three. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...text-menu.html

I continue to prefer the Start screen, but the new Modern Start menu is a step in the right direction. I switch to learn all 3.

It's like Mystere puts it > Windows will eventually be Modern. There's no bout a doubt it. *Biggrin

    Just my thoughts, FWIW..

The new way of pining the metro apps to the start menu makes my life easier.. well I don't use that many metro apps so my start menu is not all that complex/messy.

Here is what my start menu looks like:

Will be interesting to see what options are available in the final version of W10. Hopefully it will allow us to easily configure things to the way we like them. At least the price (free for the first year) is right! *Biggrin

Looks nice Jeff! I don't use many apps myself, so things aren't real cluttered on my Start Menu/Screen either.

I agree with you that having the ability to swap from the start menu to the start screen would be a nice feature. I don't know how often I would use it but it would be nice to have.

Not necsasarly .. I think of Metro when I think of the new apps that are available and Metro will still be available for tablet users so it's really not gone, just modified in how it's presented.

you can set start to tablet mode, give a full start screen ,and charms is gone but everything that was found in it still lives on in,lower right ,notifacations ,All settings ,and if you type into the top right search box in settings it will list items [alphabetically] or in some kind of order[just type in AD and see what I mean ] . may not be what you want ,but I like it almost as much as I liked the charms bar.

and I don't think metro apps are going anywhere ,at least I haven't seen or read anything to the suggest so!*Think

I think the Metro apps are here to stay as well. I use a few but as time goes on I hope to make use of some more.
