Windows 10: Did MS change how Windows security updates happen?

Version 2004 (OS Build 19041-572)

I am new to Windows 10 so please bear with me.

Did MS change Windows security updates happen? It appears that Windows update and Windows Security updates have separate checks and downloads.

Windows security updates ppear to be separated from Windows update. Windows update does not show the updates being downloaded and installing (but the history shows they are installed). In the Windows Security section there is place to check only for security updates. The last checked time stamp in the Windows Security is different form the Windows update last checked time.

In Windows Security / Protection updates it says ...We try to automatically download the most recent intelligence to protect your device... you can also manually check for updates.

Anyone else have this? is this normal?

Windows 7 Ultimate (64) Security updates not installing.

I have been having problems in installing the updates that I have listed below. For each update I attempted to install them individually but they would not install. I also downloaded the SURT 6.1 KB947821 v27. The problem has been going on now for about 2 months. (whenever the issue with the updates comes to mind I am never near my pc). Thank you in advance.
