Did your Bluetooth icon & function suddenly disappear?

Happened to me too . . . worked fine one day, and the next day it was completely missing. After running "troubleshooter" my computer decided I didn't even have Bluetooth installed on my my computer.

Good News: the "virtual agent" gave me the following response and it worked perfectly . . . follow it exactly and you may have the same good fortune I did:

Fully shutdown and restart your PC (cold reboot)

    · Follow these steps to perform a cold reboot:

    (1) Save documents and close any programs you have open.

    · You may want to write down these steps too.

    (2) Press and hold the power button on your device for a full 10 seconds, until the screen turns off, then release the power button.

    · Make sure to hold the button for the full 10 seconds.

    (3) Unplug your PC's power cable, wait 30 seconds, and plug your PC back in. If you're using a laptop PC, make sure to also disconnect the charger.
    (4) Turn your device back on.

    (5) Return to the Bluetooth settings page and check if the Bluetooth icon has returned.

    · Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices

    (6) If your Bluetooth icon still doesn’t appear, contact me again and ask to talk to an agent to get more help with this issue.

    :)

    Bluetooth icon disappeared.

I have searched everywhere for my bluetooth icon. It has disappeared from device manager completely. Is there a way of rolling back an update with Windows 10? I suspect an update suddenly made my bluetooth disappear.

Bluetooth Suddenly Disappeared - from settings & device manager

Number 1: Open up the devices window (search for Device Manager, and you will get the window).

Number 2: Open up the View Menu. When I selected "Show Hidden Devices", my Bluetooth devices and installed drivers appeared.

Now you should see Bluetooth on the device list. Click the arrow to open up the selections:

Number 3: I double clicked each of the 'devices' under Bluetooth (there were several on that particular computer). The message told me that the devices were'disconnected'. I right-clicked each of them and selected 'Update Driver". I chose to search the web for the updated drivers:

It updated one driver, but Bluetooth was still disconnected.

Number 4: Finally, I went to the web-site of the maker of that laptop and downloaded the most recent drivers to the machine. I unzipped them, and selected 'Update Drivers' again for the Bluetooth device on the machine (which unfortunately had a generic name like 'Win USB Bluetooth Device' so I wasn't sure I was selecting the correct thing).

This time, however, I chose "Browse my computer for driver software", and chose the folder to which I unzipped the downloaded driver. The driver updated and, lo and behold, the device connected.

I'm giving you such a detailed description because it took me a couple of hours to find where the problem lay and solve it. Hope this helps you! If I've been unclear, please let me know!

Microsoft bluetooth mouse 3600 suddenly undetected

I'm using a Microsoft mouse 3600 on Windows 10, all worked fine until suddenly the mouse stopped working, it disappeared from the Bluetooth detection and can't be found anymore. I need to say Windows performed an update yesterday but it still worked fine after the update. I've tried replacing batteries, updating Bluetooth driver, went one step before the updates and nothing. I obviously tried troubleshooting about anything. The mouse does work on other laptops.

Any ideas? thanks Did your Bluetooth icon & function suddenly disappear? :)
