  1. Difference Between TCP associated MaxUserPort and Group Policy Limit outstanding packets?

I'm in the midst of some network optimizations, and I noticed that, within the group policy editor with the directive: "Administrative Templates / Network / QoS Packet Scheduler / Limit outstanding packets", the default configuration value was the same as the TcpOptimizer optimal value for the MaxUserPort setting. Do they control the same thing?

Certain websites claim that the optimal value for the configures outstanding packets would be 4000000000 (4 with 9 0's). Anyone have any thoughts?

QoS Packet Scheduler - Blocked by group policy?

I am trying to make changes to a network adapter and install QoS Packet Scheduler. However, when I click to install I get "Could not add the requested feature. The error is: This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator." I am doing this as the administrator and I have no group policy that should be blocking this.

I am going to network adapter > Properties > under "Networking" I click "Install..." and select QoS Packet Scheduler. I do not see it as a list of already available options, which is why I need to install it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
