Windows 10: difference between vc_redist.x64 vs vcredistx.x64 visual studio 2019

hi there, i was wondering about the differences between vc_redist.x64 and vcredistx.x64.


note i have not mistyped the filename. they are exactly correct. image proof below



I did find a question asking the same thing but it was not answered here.

As you can see from the timestamps, both files where installed at the same time by the visual studio installer.

This has happened for comunity edition and professional the picuture is from professional, as you can see from the directory path


so what is the difference?

It says:

Locate the redistributable files

To deploy redistributable files, you can use the redistributable packages installed by Visual Studio. In versions of Visual Studio since 2017, these files are named vc_redist.arm64.exe, vc_redist.x64.exe, and vc_redist.x86.exe. In Visual Studio 2015, Visual
Studio 2017, and Visual Studio 2019, they're also available under the names vcredist_x86.exe, vcredist_x64.exe, and vcredist_arm.exe (2015 only).
