    Different Passwords for Two Computers

I recently changed the password to my Microsoft Account, which I use to sign into my desktop computer. I have it set to sync across all devices. However, whenever I log into my laptop computer, I need to put in the old password. Yet, it shows I'm signed into my Microsoft Account exactly like when I'm on the desktop. What exact settings need to be ticked or whatever so that I use one login password on starting each computer? I've looked at both settings side by side and all seem to be the same. It's not especially urgent, but is really annoying. It reminds me of my files never syncing between the same two computers on OneDrive, which was never resolved. Maybe it's the same thing causing this problem? Laptop and desktop are both running the very last build of Win 10 Home 1903 Build 18362.356.

    :)

You can reset your password following the next steps:

    • Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
    • Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
    • Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
    • Press e for edit.
    • Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
    • Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
    • Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
    • Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
    • Type in passwd yourusername
    • Set your new password.
    • Restart your system.
