Windows 10: Direct Access stopped working after new update.

Hello everyone,


The recent Windows 1903 Cumulative Update seems to be breaking previously active connectivity with Direct Access to our company network. It was working fine with no problems until this new update was pushed to some of our users. Searched around but it seems no one else has posted about this issue yet, so not sure if it has to do with our GPO settings or the update itself. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Win 10 Ent - Direct Access


Does anyone know where i can find info about configuring Win 10 Ent and Direct Access?

We had a Win 8 Direct Access environment setup and working but abandoned it when we abandoned Win 8. I would like to get DA going again with Win 10. The servers etc. are all still in place.

I know DA has had some changes in Win 10. How different is it?

Are there any whitepapers? or sites i can go to that step you through the setup/config?

Setting up direct access to domain or network.

Original title : Microsoft Direct Access.

I am working on setting up Microsoft direct access for my company (unfortunately I have no idea what i am doing). I have a few questions regarding the setup.

1. Does direct access need to be on a domain controller? Can it just be a member server on the domain?

2. How does a client connect to the direct access server?

3. Does direct access require the certificates?

4. Can anyone help me with a simple step by step setup?

Intel E5200 Gets Updated, R0 Stepping Coming Up

Intel's Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor is getting on course for a specifications update. The chip will feature in a new, improved Wolfdale-2M core, spec'd out as the R0 stepping, from its current M0 stepping. The new stepping is intended to add new instructions, power-management features, and bring about changes in the chip-package. A short list of known changes is as follows:

• CPUID changed from 10677 to 1067A
• Power State Indicator (PSI) support with Intel 4 series chipsets
• New instructions - XSAVE and XRSTOR
• New S-spec and MM numbers
• New halide-free chip package

Due to the changed CPUID, users may require BIOS updates to detect the CPU. According to the company, E5200 R0 should be out by April 13.
