Direct update from Win7 to Win10

I've just done upgrade to Windows10 over internet. It is automatically activated. What I have to do if I want to do a fresh installation of windows10? Which version should I download in using Media Creation tool? which key will work?

Here is the screenshot of show key app-

Why Installed key and original key are different? Win7 was activated with original key. During win10 upgrade, no key was given.

    :)

I have been requsted the Service pack 1 of Win 7 on Win 10 !!! Why?

Hummm... it appears that you have already upgraded from Win7 to Win10, correct?

So, the issues is NOT do you need Win7 SP1 to perform the upgrade to Win10...

What is GeneXpert? It appears that this software is coded to find Win7SP1 and doesn't understand Win10. I'd direct future inquires to the maker of the software. Perhaps they have a newer version?

  3. Turning on Win10 PC after Installments Win7 Then To Win10 Problem

    Dear Microsoft Community

I am having configuration problem with a laptop I have upgraded from WinVista to Win7, then Win10

I found when installing Win7, it seemed like I was installing the twice.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I get an option open the laptop in Win7 or Win10 on a light blue screen.

Can anyone please direct me in solving this issue.

You will boot from a Windows 10 install USB/DVD created with the Media Creation Tool and either delete the partitions on the hard drive and install to unallocated space, or format the operating system partition and install to the newly formatted drive.

Windows 10 Home. 32bit or 64bit is your choice, if you have over 4GB RAM it should definitely be 64bit

In your situation - an upgrade from Windows 7 initially - you should never enter a product key in Windows 10. Click on "skip" or "do this later" when a new install asks for a product key. In your situation the Windows 10 activation is called an entitlement activation and is based solely on the Hardware ID of the computer - not a product key, and the activation information is stored on MS activation servers.

The installed key is for Windows 10. It is the generic product key that every upgrade from a previous Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10 Home gets. It is different than the Windows 7 Product Key because it is for Windows 10 and not Windows 7. Also, when you want to post a screenshot from Showkey - just click on the product keys and they will change to XXXX-. The Windows 10 Home product key you have blacked out is YTMG3-N6DKC-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7. If you had Windows 10 Pro, it would get VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T.

    Thanks for the clarification.
    Regarding download iso -

Which version should I download -Home, Home N & Home single language? For my another laptop (HP, came with win8), I downloaded home single language version. Also I do not have any idea about the difference among these three.

So, no need to hide the product key is it is generic for all. right?
As per my understanding, when I will do a fresh install, again it will get activated automatically since my laptop's hardware id is in the MS activation server?

You want Windows 10 Home, 64 bit. Not N, and not single language. lt is supposed to activate itself whether you enter the generic Product Key or just click on "skip" or "do this later".
