  4. Direct X Searching required file taking too long

Direct x installation error A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file is valid

    Hi,

Thanks for the update and response.

As the Windows 10 operating system comes with the latest version of the Direct X version there is no need of installing separate Direct X.

To check about the Direct X version follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + R for Run.
    • Type dxdiag and then Enter.
    • Under System tab check the Direct X version.
If you still find issues follow the below steps.

    Rename the Catroot2 folder

To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

    • In Search Bar, type cmd, and then click OK.
    • At the command prompt, type the following commands, and then press Enter after each line:
    net stop cryptsvc

    ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2

    net start cryptsvc

    exit

    • Remove all tmp*.cat files from the following folder:
    %systemroot%\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

Note If no files that start with "tmp" exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. The .cat files in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

Important Do not rename the Catroot folder. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the Catroot folder is not recreated if the Catroot folder is renamed.

Disclaimer: Making changes in the system files completely depends upon the user and Microsft is not responsible for any kind of Data loss or system corruption.

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
