Windows 10: directx graphic problem

hey guys.

im recently having a problem with my laptop. after i changed my hdd to ssd i installed windows 10 again with all its drivers and c++ thing from 2003 to 2019, all of them. then i saw when i try to play games after a short 30 sec to 1 min duration, the gpu stops working and switches to integrated graphics and load the integrated graphics with god knows what so a game than needs only 32mb of vram drops to 3-6 FPS... i tried updating windows, removing updates,, reinstalling windows 6 times... updating it again after removing updates... same things with drivers... new drivers ... old ones .... nothing helps.

the only times it gets fixed is when i force some of my games to run on dx9 which i only know how trough steam...

after i found this out i reinstalled windows and only gave it dx9 and drivers that i wanted myself and it was ok but after i installed a steam game which updated the directx thing, the problem came back.

and dxdiag shows only dx12 even with a freshly installed windows with no internet connection...

laptop model is ASUS K556URK -- 8GB ram -- geforce 930mx 2GB -- i7-7500u 3.5ghz


please help.

Directx 12 on Windows 10 is gone

Step 1:

I suggest you to check the DirectX Version installed on your system.

Follow the below steps to check the DirectX Version:

• Press Windows key + R from the Desktop.
• Type dxdiag and hit Enter.
• Check the DirectX Version.

Step 2:

I suggest you to update the Graphic driver from the Device Manager and check if it works.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows + R on the Keyboard.
• Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
• Select Graphic driver from the list.
• Right click on the Graphic driver and click on Update driver Software.

If the issue persists then install the latest graphic driver from the manufacturer and check if it helps.

provided below. If you're done with the first one, you may proceed to the other possible solution:

• Install the previous version of DirectX - To do that, you can download the installer from this
  link.
• Reinstall your graphic card drivers. - To do so, follow these steps:

• Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager.
• Go to Display Adapters and locate graphic driver.
• Right click the driver and choose Uninstall.
• Check Remove the driver software for this device and click
  OK.
• Restart your computer once you're done uninstalling the driver.
• When computer restarts, go to graphic card manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your graphic card.
• Install the downloaded drivers.

3. Reinstall one of the previous updates. - Some installed updates can cause issues with DirectX. if that's the case, you might have to uninstall those updates.

Windows 10 DirectX problem.

First, I would suggest you to check that which version of Direct X is currently installed on your computer.

To use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to determine the version of DirectX that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:

• Click Start, and then click Run.
• Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
• On the System tab, note the version of DirectX that is displayed on the DirectX Version line.
• On the various tabs, check the version information for each DirectX file.
• When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.

If Windows cannot find the dxdiag program, DirectX installed on your computer. If this is the case, download and install the latest version of DirectX.
