    Reboot is just a task, which should be possible to be disabled, even on Home.
    Once the new updates will roll out, I will try to disable reboot, maybe like this:

    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\Reboot" /Disable
    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\USO_UxBroker_ReadyToReboot" /Disable
    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\sih" /Disable
    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\sihboot" /Disable

    For me it's very very simple....

    Every other day I run this elevated script:

    sc config "wuauserv" start= disabled
    sc stop "wuauserv"

    and on patch tuesday

    sc config "wuauserv" start= auto
    sc start "wuauserv"

    The former disable's WU entirely and the latter enables it... problem solved!

    Screwed forced reboots...

    Hello, I have 3 PC on which I do not always work and sometimes cannot see windows future restart warning, can more people confirm that this trick worked on windows 10 home ? I can't take the risk to screw anything.

    Thank you for your help, it's so incredible that Microsoft keeps bitching in 2016... I feel so stupid to have to handle this, but at the same time I would feel more if I was using a Mac...

    I installed Group Policy Edtor in Home edition and navigated to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates tree. I found a setting "No scheduled Restart for Automatic Updates installations". Enabled this, there are no options to set. Will see how it goes.
    If it annoys me with prompts to restart there is another setting for "Re-prompt for restart" with a setting for the delay. Or there is "Configure Automatic Updates" with several options. You can opt to manually download too.

    how come I got windows 10 pro free? just curious why others weren't as lucky I didn't think I'd had done anything special


    more importantly why do they make us do this kinda stuff? do they really think it's good that this new update won't install for me, so why not restart my computer every night making me restart my youtube uploads eh? good idea, yes great idea in fact microsoft, so great that I've been looking at how hard it is to install mac os on my pc lol


    welp this post was just about as useless as the guy who decides where important settings go in windows I just haven't hated windows ever until 10 lol
