    Disable Autorotation

I am having trouble with auto rotation as the laptop is not responding for a short period of time even while slightly tilted. Rotation lock button is unclickable. Any idea?

    :)

  2. How to Disable Autorotate?

I have a 2-in-1 laptop that I use in Desktop mode, never in Tablet mode. The permanently attached touchpad and keyboard will become disabled whenever an "Autorotate On" block appears in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. I can re-enable the touchpad
and keyboard by tilting the laptop towards me at a 45 degree angle. But when I put the it back to horizontal, Autorotate On again appears and the touchpad and keyboard are disabled again.

Settings/Tablet are set to start in Desktop, with Don't Switch set. However, when I open the display to flat, the system switches to Tablet mode. It returns to Desktop mode when the display is returned about 90 degrees, or normal Desktop position. Yet the
Autorotate On display continues regardless of laptop and display position, always disabling the touchpad and keyboard.

Is this a common problem? Is there a way to disable the Autorotate function? Is a fix/patch in development for release in the next, or near future update of Version 1803?

Thanks for any suggestions. Kinda difficult to work with the keyboard tilted at 45 degrees. :-(

    Laptop Autorotate Cannot be Disabled

I'm having an issue where I can’t disable the autorotate feature of my laptop. The display rotates from my preferred landscape view to the undesirable portrait view whenever I physically tilt the laptop past a certain point. I want this behavior completely turned off; I do not care for the rotation and I do not care for the tablet mode.

My laptop is an ASUS Q324UAK model running Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

Things I’ve tried that have been unsuccessful:

    1. changing the value of the rotation lock option in the action center
    2. setting the option for tablet mode to "don’t ask me and don’t switch"

A question similar to mine has been asked here Enable rotation lock by default in Windows 10 but does not have any answers or comments.

I would be fine with changing registry values if it will fix the problem, but I tried what the OP suggested from the above question, and indeed the laptop still autorotates regardless of the registry edits.

    How to Disable Autorotate?

I'll act on your suggestions tomorrow. It's evening and I'm in the need of an adult beverage...LOL

Seriously, I've been working with Dell for more than two months on this issue. Their conclusion is that there are no problems with the hardware after extensive diagnostic testing. Furthermore, they claim not to have heard of other incidences of this issue,
This I find strange because the Dell 2-in-1 architecture is popular and Win 10 is installed in most, if not all 2-in-1 systems Dell delivers.

Though deleting and reinstalling various drivers makes sense. All it takes is one errant address or flag and the world goes to hell. To err may be human, but to really screw up takes a computer.

Aside from attempting your suggestions, I also will scan the Registry from anything associated with Autorotate in hopes of finding a basic flag that authorizes Autorotate execution. If I make a mistake, I can always slick the HDD and reinstall Windows. I've
    done that enough times.

    Thanks again, Hank
